Project BoLI - Bolstering Language Resources in Indigenous Languages of India

BoLI is a network of linguists, language experts (community members), NLP experts, working towards building linguistic resources and technologies in Indigenous languages of India. The resources available via this project are not necessarily collected for building NLP applications but they could be originally developed for different purposes such as language documentation, grammar writing, lexicon development, development of teaching-learning materials, studying child language acquisition, etc. While generally these resources are sparse, for the indigenous languages of India, these might be the only resources available. We have not only made these available through Project BoLI but have expanded and repurposed these to suit the development of language technologies and developed language technologies using these. We also offer our services to collect more data and technologies in these languages, along with offering these datasets for both research and commercial purposes.
